While the eyes of the whole world turned to Turkey with the Renewable Energy Resources (YEKA) tender held recently, TSE has come to the end of its one-year work to accredit the 61400 standard document for the first time.<\/p>
In order for TSE to be accredited, it had to certify a domestic product. The accreditation process was carried out on the 0.3 MW wind turbine produced by Aselsan-Northel Elektromekanik cooperation using 100 percent domestic technology, design and 100 percent domestic raw materials. After T\u00fcrk Loydu, one of our national certification institutions, TSE’s accreditation has thus come to an end. The turbine, which has great importance for domestic products in the sector, was installed in Mudanya with the participation of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe.<\/p>
The wind turbine that Northel designed and developed was certified by TSE by passing all tests under 16 main headings and over 200 subheadings in accordance with 61400 standards. It was stated that this document, which is considered a major step for the renewable energy sector, will provide great dynamism to the local sector.<\/p>
Underlining that the TS EN 61400 document received for the turbine produced with 100% local and national technology and 100% local raw materials is of great importance for the development of the country’s economy, the sector and local technology companies investing in the sector, Northel Electromechanical Chief Designer and Vice Chairman of the Board Cem Yal\u00e7\u0131n said; \u201cFor years, since imported turbines received permission to connect to our national grid with the documents they obtained from abroad, there was no need for a national certification institution, therefore, local companies were not able to obtain this document. \u201cThe turbine produced by Aselsan-Northel cooperation, after T\u00fcrk Loydu and then TSE approached the issue nationally and locally, has set an example for the necessary test environment and methods to obtain this document, and has provided an environment for 100% local production of MW turbines within a year,\u201d he said.<\/p>
Yal\u00e7\u0131n, who emphasized that the system engineering is completely theirs and that they work with a supplier network consisting of at least fifty expert companies, said; \u201cThere is no technological deficiency in our country regarding the production of MW power turbines. Especially the Alternator, Power Electronics, Wing, Wing Molds, Tower and Body are produced entirely with local means. Starting from the point where he started by designing wind turbines with 3-5 kW power in our center in Istanbul in 2003 to being ready to produce turbines with MW power today is the result of 10 years of work.\u201d<\/p>
Stating that technological development can be achieved through field experience and collaborations, and that companies that cannot renew themselves cannot grow, Cem Yal\u00e7\u0131n stated that Aselsan’s contribution to the power electronics section of Northel turbines made turbines competitive in global markets. He thanked Aselsan UGES unit, TSE authorities and T\u00fcrk Loydu for the devoted work carried out for localization.
